The Double Down: Weapon of Mass Destruction

okay so the first post was an epic failure to say
the least so i'm gonna try something different.

Many of you may have heard of KFC's new "sandwich" The Double Down. For those of you who haven't, it essentially a biological weapon. I would call it a heart attack on a bun but there is one complication. THERE IS NO BUN. no bread no nothing. It's two slices of greasy bacon and and two types of cheese sandwiched in between two ginormous Deep Fried chicken breasts. Which makes you wonder how big those super-chickens were. Needless to say there is crap load of sodium and a bunch of other stuff that's bad for you.

My question is this. Who on this green earth is responsible for this monstrosity? What possessed this fiend to attack the hearts of poor unsuspecting Americans who are helpless to consume anything deep fried and wrapped in bacon? I'll tell you! I have absolutely no idea. And i feel helpless. Americans liked the thing so much, it is now an official menu item. It can now clog the arteries of Americans for generations to come.

What's my point? We need to stand up for ourselves. We are voluntarily shortening our lives by eating things like this. And some say that it is as bad for you as a Big Mac. I DON'T CARE. we shouldn't be eating those either. I don't understand why we are poisoning ourselves. Fast food is barely okay in moderation and I love fast food. I have to restrain myself because i don't want to end up on some crappy reality show or like the girls who tried to sue McDonald's for making them obese. Fast food has a firm grip on American culture and all I'm saying is that we should try to loosen it's grip before it kills us. I'm 17 and I don't want this to get any worse, I don't like the way the future is looking right now.

It's up to us.

My First Blog: Maximum Ride

Okay so, this is my first blog entry on my first ever blog. I've always wanted to have one and now that I do, I don't really know what to write about... So here goes!
I love to read, plain and simple. My favorite authors include Dan Brown, Daniel Quinn, Theodore Geisel (aka Dr.Seuss) and Mary Hoffman. James Patterson however is slowly falling off of my list though.
Maximum Ride was one of my favorite series. That is until I started reading MAX. It's not that it's not good it's just that well, it's not good. It went from this high flying adventure to a cliche "save the world" book. I feel that with it's increasing fame, the writing has become more and more basic and lacks a certain craftsmanship that I once loved about it. now it's Max and her lesser important gang versus the "big corporations" Max seems to be a lot more focused on her own self than anyone else. I love the environment and I understand that James Patterson is trying to get a very important message across. I just wish that he would have done so in a more clever and artistic way. I must admit that I have yet to finish the book, but I have read enough to know that I am rather disappointed. It used to be hard to put the Maximum Ride books down. Now I'm fighting to get to the next chapter. I really want to like it but I don't think it's working out.

What do you think about the book/series? Is it worth finishing?

Yours Truly,
Shady
